- In 1972, The Rolling Stones released their album “Exile on Main St.” The album includes classics like “Tumbling Dice” and “Sweet Virginia,” and is considered by many to be one of their greatest works.

- In 1980, Ritchie Blackmore left the band Rainbow to form a new band called Blackmore’s Night, which focused on medieval and Renaissance-inspired music.
- In 1986, the punk rock band Dead Kennedys released their final studio album “Bedtime for Democracy.” The album included politically-charged songs such as “Chickenshit Conformist” and “Rambozo the Clown.”
- In 1990, the British band The Stone Roses released their self-titled debut album, which helped to define the “Madchester” music scene in the UK.
- In 2003, the alternative rock band Radiohead released their album “Hail to the Thief.” The album features politically-themed songs such as “2 + 2 = 5” and “I Will.”
- In 2004, Morrissey, the former lead singer of The Smiths, released his album “You Are the Quarry.” The album included the singles “Irish Blood, English Heart” and “First of the Gang to Die.”
- In 2008, the alternative rock band Death Cab for Cutie released their album “Narrow Stairs.” The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
- In 2010, the American rock band The Hold Steady released their album “Heaven is Whenever.” The album included the singles “Hurricane J” and “Rock Problems.”
- In 2018, The Weeknd released his EP “My Dear Melancholy,” which included the hit single “Call Out My Name.”
