- In 1976, The Ramones released their self-titled debut album, which is widely regarded as one of the most influential punk rock albums of all time.
- In 1983, Quiet Riot’s album “Metal Health” became the first heavy metal album to reach number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
- In 1987, Guns N’ Roses released their debut album “Appetite for Destruction,” which went on to become one of the best-selling albums of all time.
- In 1994, Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of Nirvana, was found dead at his home in Seattle, Washington.
- In 2005, The White Stripes performed a free concert in Glendale, California, which drew a crowd of over 10,000 fans.
- In 2012, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, where they played a tribute to the late Levon Helm, the drummer of The Band.
